Tell of Your wondrous works

If we know about the goodness of God, then it is our job to be messengers. If we have experienced His goodness in our lives, it is not enough to just be witnesses. It is our calling to proclaim His goodness. Let’s turn to the Psalms.

“I wash my hands in innocence, and go about Your altar, Lord, proclaiming aloud Your praise and telling of all Your wonderful deeds.” Psalm 26:6-7 (NIV)

We see here that clean hands and a clean heart proceed proclaiming with thanksgiving and telling of God’s wondrous works. If our hearts are consumed with selfish desires and we’re blinded by sin, it won’t even be on our radar to proclaim the good works of the Lord. We are looking inward instead of looking at Him.

“My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.” Psalm 26:12

This is a beautiful promise. We can praise the Lord and proclaim His works knowing that nothing will shift beneath us. He is consistent. He is true to His word.

His good works are without corruption.

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13 (NIV)

When we share about His goodness and proclaim His praise, we can do so with confidence. We are standing on solid rock.

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” Psalm 100:1-4 (NIV)

Proclaiming His goodness comes from having gratefulness in our hearts. If we are overwhelmed with thanks because of what He has done, we will use our voices to tell of all the greatness of God and in proclaiming our thanks, we will bless the Lord!
