Hearing God

Are you having trouble hearing God’s voice in your life right now?

“For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it.” Job 33:14

What does it take for God to be able to speak to you, to guide you? You must be in the state of “normal processes.” (E. Stanley Jones)

If your normal process are:

Too distracted

Too distressed

Too busy

Too panicked

Too fearful

Too angry

Too resentful

Too rebellious

God cannot/ will not speak to you because you cannot hear His voice. We see this throughout the Bible with examples such as Martha, the crew on the ship with Paul, Moses striking the rock.

So how can we intentionally set ourselves up to hear God’s voice?

We set our focus on Him.

We trust Him.

We slow down.

We find our security in Him.

We reconcile ourselves to Him.

We submit ourselves to Him.

He wants to speak to us. He is delighted when we slow down and ask Him to speak.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:27-28 (NIV)
