Gifts

Gift guides are popping up everywhere, offering great ideas for the latest and greatest things to give—and, to be honest, things to want! They are organized by interests, hobbies, price, uniqueness, usability, collectability, age, and gender. They always boast of having "something for everyone on your list" and aim to help you secure the "perfect" gift for that certain someone who is hard to shop for.

In case you haven’t been asked yet—what do you want this year?

I gave this question some serious thought, and this is what I came up with as I thought through the people I love and the gifts I want to give them.

I want peace. Not just the absence of conflict, but the peace that allows calm regardless of the circumstances.

I want joy. Not giddy happiness, but the joy that no one can take away.

I want forgiveness.

I want love.

I want unity.

I want mercy and justice.

I want grace.

I want hope.

I want truth.

I want kindness and compassion.

I want healing and wholeness.

I want comfort.

I want rest.

I want acceptance.

These gifts can’t be purchased with dollars and should not be considered luxury items only available to an elite or exclusive market.

The gifts of life in Christ are for all people. They never break down, wear out. or go out of style!

Jesus is the most treasured gift to ever possess, and nothing gives more joy than giving Him to another!
