Choosing rest this Advent

Are you tired already? I am. Why are the holidays so often full of hurrying and hustle and stress?

This year, I aim to be intentional as we head into December. I want to experience a shift in the atmosphere of my heart and my home, my attitudes and actions, my focus and faith. Will you join me? We always have a choice when it comes to how we approach this season. Are we going to choose:

Glamour and Glitz or Glorifying God

Presents or Presence

HoHoHo or Holy, Holy, Holy

Shimmer and Shine or Service

Indulging or Investing

Getting or Giviving

Panicking or Praising

Working or Worshipping

Hustling or Being Humbled

Perfection or People

Anxiety or Abundance

Complaining or Contemplating

Exhaustion or Exptance

Stressing or Stillness

This is all easier said than done—but I believe God desires more for us than worry and exhaustion, especially this time of year.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
