Vision

So many decisions are made based on short term benefits. Feelings reign and rule.

I’m tired.

I’m busy.

I’m lonely.

I’m upset.

I’m bored.

I’m over it!

Children do not have the emotional maturity or judgement to consider the cost of choices. Many adults never grow up spiritually and then fall into the trap of immediate gratification and self fulfillment.

Excuses provide escape, blame is a bandaid for responsibility, but experience has taught me that the short term fix almost always leads to regret, remorse, and resentment.

“…God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.” Romans 2:4 (ESV)

If you are facing a new year with little or no confidence that things will ever change, this may be a new thought for you. God’s kindness is making you uncomfortable and unsettled.

He desires for you to break free from poor choices and the guilt & weight of your past.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36 (NIV)

Notice freedom is not accomplished by your good intentions or resolutions to do better this year. Genuine freedom is a gift from God through Jesus, His son.

I really pray you will make the choice to step into 2023 free of the burden of your past choices & lighten the load of shame. It’s up to you.

Today is an awesome day to make a choice that will set you on a new path!

I just watched this happen. Soneone I love very much made the decision to confront people from the past and ask for forgiveness. It was powerful, it was spiritually strengthening, and it was release.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (ESV)

Short term relief pales in comparison to everlasting hope and peace. The benefits of walking in the freedom God offers is beyond compare.

I pray 2023 will be a memorial year in your life marked by choices to receive cleansing, clarity, and live in freedom & faith!

All day I have read inspiring words of wisdom and encouragement for the new year. My prayer for myself and those I love, my prayer for all who earnestly desire to see spiritual maturity and change is:

“Lord Jesus, whatever it takes, I want more of you! Amen.”
