Strength in Scripture

Nothing supersedes Holy Scripture. There is only one way to gain and grow spiritually, and that is by immersing yourself in the Word of God.

“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”  Joshua 1:8 (NIV)

We are called to meditate on scripture constantly, consistently, and continually.

We have to internalize it, and allow its teachings to guide our thoughts, words, and actions. This aligns us with God's definition of success, which far exceeds the world's standards. True prosperity comes from living according to His Word.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Facing the future with determination and resolve is a recurring theme in Scripture. God commands us to be strong and courageous even when the situation is threatening or intimidating. When we’re outnumbered or out-resourced, we can find confidence in knowing that the Most High is our defender.

The Bible is not just a collection of laws, but a comprehensive guide that includes the Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms. From Genesis to Revelation, the entirety of Scripture holds authority.

Bury your face in this book. It’s not a suggestion, a clue or even a key— it’s a command.

“But few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:42 (NIV)
