God’s care package

God sends us a spiritual care package to sustain and nurture us through life's journeys. Let’s go through the acronym “CARES” as an easy way to remember the tools that God provides us with.

C - Cry out!

When we face difficulties, it’s tempting to complain, but God invites us to cry out to Him.

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8 (NIV)

God sees our struggles and cares deeply for our pain. Bring your cares to the One who has the answers. Crying out to God is a form of worship and trust, acknowledging that He is our refuge and strength.

A - Appeal to our Father.

Anxiety can overwhelm us, but God invites us to appeal to Him. The book of Job reminds us that we are not under this world’s economy but under heaven’s ways, which are different and higher. By appealing to God, we allow His peace to change our hearts and reset our focus. Remember, Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, and He is intimately involved in our lives.

R - Remember who He is.

When we face challenges, it’s crucial to remember who God is and what He has done.

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”  Psalm 103:2-6 (NIV)

Reflecting on God’s faithfulness realigns our focus and strengthens our faith.

E - Enlarge God over your circumstances.

Your mountain is not bigger than God. He made the mountain. Tell the mountain how big your God is. If you look around, things may seem overwhelming. So, instead, look up and proclaim His sovereignty and power.

S - Sing and Worship.

Worshiping God shifts the atmosphere.

“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2 (NIV)

Your praise strips the enemy of his power and fills your heart with God’s presence. Declare His goodness, create a sea of praise, and watch as heaven and earth join in magnifying His name.

As you open this spiritual care package, may you find the strength, peace, and joy that only God can provide.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
