Episode Five: Testify to the Truth
In this week’s episode, I sat down with my friend Stacy, who has practiced law for 33 years. We discussed how God has uniquely gifted her to serve as an advocate for those in desperate need of help. Stacy emphasizes the importance of knowing when to speak and when to listen. She shares insights on staying spiritually prepared and how keeping the Lord in your heart can guide you through challenging situations.
Episode Four: Activate Holy Spirit Power
In this week’s episode, I had the joy of talking with my dear friend, Leah, who has been faithfully walking with the Lord for over 20 years. Leah shares how the Holy Spirit’s power has been evident in her life and how being consistently in the Word has changed her. We talk about the courage it takes to follow God’s calling, even when we don’t know what’s on the other side—trusting in who He is every step of the way.
Episode Three: Boldness as a Believer
In this episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with my grandson, Mac, who is entering high school this year. Our conversation reminded me that no matter your age, you can be a credible witness for Jesus. Mac and I talk about what it looks like to live for Jesus in today’s world, how accountability plays a key role in our walk with Christ, and how we can be bold believers at any stage of life. This episode will encourage you to stand up for Jesus—whether you're young or old—and live for Him with steadfast faith.
Episode Two: Confident Hope in Christ
In this episode of Rooted & Radiant, I sit down with my dear friend, Beth, to explore the promise of Jesus as "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). Together, we dive into the deep longing God has set in our hearts—a longing to be reconciled to Him that we may not always recognize.
Beth and I talk about how Christ gives us confident hope, encouraging us to wait on Him, trust in His timing, and know that He is always with us. As we share about loving and following Jesus, we are reminded that true life is found in Him alone.
I hope this conversation serves as a beautiful reminder that Jesus’ presence is our constant source of strength and hope.
Episode One: Authentic Living with The Lord
We’re kicking off Season Three of Rooted & Radiant with a beautiful conversation with my sweet friend of twenty-five years, Nina. I believe that meeting people where they are is one of the most Christ-like things we can do, and Nina is such an incredible example of this. In this episode, we talk about authenticity, being a credible witness, how much we need one another, and what it looks like to be a follower of Jesus. No matter where you are in your walk with Christ, this episode will encourage you on your journey.
Season 3 Pre-Launch: Credible Witness
Welcome, friend. In this season of Rooted & Radiant, we are diving into what it means to be a credible witness for Christ. Together, we’ll explore how our lives can point others to the living Lord Jesus, hearing powerful stories from our guests about the people who helped lead them to see Jesus more clearly.
Episode Eleven: Season 2 Wrap-Up
As we wrap up Season Two of the Rooted & Radiant podcast, I would like to thank our guests for their vulnerability, honesty, and courage in sharing their stories. They not only teach us but also remind us that we are not alone in our experiences, even when they are sad or dark. The enemy may try to convince us we are alone, but through sharing the work of God in our lives, we come to realize that we are not.
Episode Ten: Not Alone
A relationship with Jesus and taking care of your mental health are not mutually exclusive. In fact, Jesus sets the example for self-care in scripture. In this episode, I engage in a conversation with my good friend and clinical mental health counselor, Jennifer. Together, we explore what it means to live authentically as Christians, the vital role of self-care, strategies for surrounding yourself with safe people, cultivating friendship, and seeking professional help. Jennifer’s wisdom and advice make this episode a must-listen. So, grab your coffee and settle in for a discussion on a topic that's often overlooked in the modern day church, but that is so desperately important.
Episode Nine: Power to Overcome
The decision to follow God does not exempt us from challenging times; rather, it guarantees that we will step into a spiritual battle. In this episode, we’ll discuss how God has equipped you for this battle and how there is power beyond yourself when you engage in it. Transitioning from the wilderness to the promises God has given you requires putting on the full armor of God and capturing every thought for Him. That which you believed would ruin you will, in fact, lift you up. God has promised you spacious places.
Episode Eight: Hope-filled Suffering
Sometimes we go through valleys that only Jesus can walk us through. It was my privilege to sit down and talk to my oldest daughter, Morgan, about her own wilderness journey through one such valley. When her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor, she and her family embarked on a long, terrifying, and brutal healing journey. Join us for this raw conversation about learning to admit when you're not okay, seeking support from trusted people, and ultimately placing trust in the goodness of God, regardless of the outcome.
Episode Seven: Preparing Your Table
There are treasures in the wilderness—treasures you would never have received if you had not been willing to follow God into a dry and barren land. Time and time again, we see examples of people walking through the wilderness and into God’s promises in the Bible—Abraham, Moses, David, John, and even Jesus. In this episode, I talk about how God prepares a table in the wilderness for us. I pray that this episode reminds you that God has personal promises for you, even in, and especially in the wilderness.
Episode Six: Food in the Wilderness
When we embark on wilderness journeys, God does not leave us to fend for ourselves. Join me as we delve into a conversation with my friend, coworker, and sister in Christ, Wendy, about her wilderness journey and how God sustained her. Throughout her long journey, Jesus remained her one true constant. He gave her promises to hide in her heart and cling to in the darkest moments. I firmly believe that whether you are just starting or find yourself in the midst of your own wilderness journey, you need to hear this conversation. You are not alone on this journey, and you are not forgotten.
Episode Five: Equip Yourself
Prayer is a gift God gives to His children so that they will be equipped to live in this world with hope, courage, and victory. In this episode, I explore the prayer life of Jesus and discuss how to grow and cultivate a rich prayer life. There are numerous instances of Jesus withdrawing to pray in the Bible. This tells us something—a rich prayer life starts when we are willing to go into the wilderness. Let’s dive into what the Bible has to say about it.
Episode Four: Prayer to Fuel Me
Prayer is one of the main ways God provides for us to stay rooted and grounded in Him. It’s a comfort to know that we can simply call on the Lord—He desires to reveal great and unsearchable things to us. This episode, I talk to my friend, Kristy, about her journey of spiritual growth, especially through the lens of prayer. After facing the tragic loss of her mother to suicide, Kristy found that the Lord is a compassionate confidant who could empathize with her deepest emotions
Episode Three: Healing by the Lord
Grief is a journey that touches us all, and being prepared to navigate it, both for ourselves and to support others, is invaluable. We have to get comfortable with grief. There is so much we can learn from scenes of grief and loss of men and women in the Bible. In this episode, we are going to dive into some of these examples and talk about healing. I want to say, if you are experiencing loss of any kind, I’m sorry.
Episode Two: Comfort Yourself in the Lord
Grief looks different for different people. As a mother, my desire is to fix and heal my children as quickly as possible. However, God has given me eyes to see their individuality, and when the unimaginable happens, it is God who can bring them the comfort that they really need. In this episode, I was able to sit down with my daughter, Caroline, and talk about the loss of her brother, my son, James. Caroline candidly shares her personal journey through grief and faith. Together, we explore the profound concept of grieving with hope. This is one episode you won’t want to miss.
Episode One: Provisions for My Soul
This episode is about grieving, healing, and learning. In this episode, I open up about the painful loss of my son, James, sharing the deeply personal journey of how God ministered to my heart amidst sorrow and tragedy, and continues to do so. As I reflect on the years that have passed, I want to share some things with you that I have learned and am still learning. Whatever you are going through right now, I want to assure you that God is present on the other side of it. You are not alone, and He steadfastly walks with you through every step of your journey.
Pre-Launch Episode: Wilderness Journey

The testimonies this season are going to encourage you and provide strength as you embark on your own wilderness journey. Let’s learn and grow together in God’s Word, giving Him the opportunity to speak personally to us.

Bonus Episode: Adoption By God and Family
Mother’s Day brings a range of emotions for many people. In this bonus Mother’s Day episode, I had the privilege of sitting down with my 17-year-old grandson, Luke, who was adopted when he was 18 months old. Together, we talk about the complexities of his situation and how more than one thing can be true—something can be both good and hard at the same time.
Season One Wrap-Up
In this wrap-up of season one, I talk about Peter stepping out of the boat in Matthew 14. He was able to walk on water because his eyes were fixed on Jesus. This podcast has been a step of faith and a humbling, learning experience. I want to encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus as you step out of the boat. No storm can keep Him from coming to you.
